Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Every woman who is pregnant and is ordinarily a resident in Ireland is entitled to Maternity Care under the Maternity and Infants Scheme. The combined or shared care during your pregnancy will be provided by the Maternity Hospital of your choice and by your Midwife/Doctor here at the Aylesbury Clinic.
Your G.P. can provide the first examination to confirm your pregnancy and general consulatation fees apply unless you hold a medical card. On completeion of the application for medical services form you will be entitled to six free antenatal examinations/visits and two free visits postnatally. The postanatal visits consist of a two week check for baby, and a six week check for both Mum and Baby.
Your antenatal visits will alternate between the maternity hospital and Aylesbury clinic under the following proposed schedule:
22 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
24 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
28 Weeks @ your maternity hospital
30 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
32 Weeks @ your maternity hospital
34 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
36 Weeks @ your maternity hospital
37 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
38 Weeks @ your maternity hospital
39 Weeks @ the Aylesbury Clinic
40 Weeks @ your maternity hospital
First of all you should decide what maternity hospital you would like to attend. Once you have registered with your chosen hospital you will probably have your first visit at 14-16 weeks for a booking history. Following that you shall be booked in for an ultrasound scan. This scan is carried out by your obstetric team in the hospital which looks at how well your baby is developing.
We endeavour to provide you with good care and advice. If in any way your pregnancy deviates away from what is considered normal then we would refer you accordingly. You can book your appointments by phone at 01 452 1907, by email at aylesburyclinic@gmail.com, in person at reception or by simply filling out the contact form below.
