COVID-19 Vaccination Schedule

We have been advised by the HSE that we will administer vaccines in the following order. Also it should be noted that these dates are subject to the HSE’s delivery of the vaccine as scheduled.

Anyone interested in being vaccinated in cohort 4 or cohort 7 must contact the surgery or collect a form at the desk.

To qualify for the vaccination you must meet the criteria listed below:

Cohort 4:

  • Diabetics with HbA1c > 58mmol in last 12 months (over 7.5%).
  • Obesity - BMI >40.
  • Chronic Respiratory Disease - home oxygen / hospitalised in the past year.

Cohort 7:

  • Chronic heart disease.
  • Chronic kidney and liver disease.
  • Chronic respiratory disease.
  • Diabetes.
  • Immunocompromised due to disease or treatment.
  • Inherited metabolic disease.
  • Obesity.
  • Severe mental illness.
  • Sickle cell disease.

What you need to do:

The COVID 19 vaccine is very different to other types of vaccines and requires very strict planning, structure and layout. Therefore we will need your full co-operation in terms of following our guidelines in order for this process to run smoothly and keep everyone safe.

  • Location: AYLESBURY CLINIC, Aylesbury Shopping Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
  • Timing: We will contact you about a week before to schedule an appointment time & date and the vaccine can only be administered at your scheduled time & date.
  • What to wear: Please wear a face-mask in order to keep everyone safe and wear a short sleeve top to streamline the process.

The Process:

  • Upon arrival, a member of staff will check you in, outside the clinic.
  • Then you will enter the clinic and our doctor will ask you some questions and then give you the injection.
  • Once you have received the injection, we will monitor you for 15 minutes in the clinic.
  • Then before you leave the clinic, you will receive a data & time for your 2nd injection as well as an information leaflet.

What not to do:

  • Only eligible patients with an appointment will receive the injection so do not bring anyone else along in the hope that they will get vaccinated as well – they won’t.
  • Friends & family, who attend with you for support, will not be allowed enter the building. For safety reasons they will have to wait outside.
  • Note that our doctors will not be able to discuss other clinical issues during the vaccine clinic.
  • Please arrive on time as per your scheduled appointment as the clinic will be fully booked and working to a very tight schedule so we will not be able to accommodate exceptions.
  • Please contact the clinic straight away if you will not be able to attend the appointment at your slotted date & time.
